Nightwalks are acts of emancipation and being. Nightwalks begin and end at home, with the intent that the route never retrace itself and frequently with a duration over two hours. These photographs were taken during the November 2020 and January 2021 lockdowns in the Georgian city of Bath in the UK. It is both commentary and rehabilitation, an appreciation of the contours and curves through which residents cavalierly pass every day, treated to calming visual flavours of marzipan and latte, and which at night take on a quality of their own: stones abandoned to their own thoughts and movements as we move about inside and out, sleeping objects and messages discarded from our lives into the sacred, hollow spaces of the dark.
